Recently Assurant’s European human resources business partner Annie Guest, was invited to join a panel discussion at an event called Reward Live. Reward Live brought together an unparalleled blend of reward and HR experts at Edgbaston Stadium, which is considered to be one of England's leading cricket grounds. With a jam-packed agenda which covered everything from strategy to engagement to wellbeing, Annie was asked to share her experiences and expertise in running the UK Assurant employee benefits programme.

Focusing on feedback, stakeholder management and engagement, Annie has re-designed and implemented a highly engaging benefits strategy for UK employees.

Responding to questions from the Reward Live host and attendees, Annie described the journey that Assurant had been on for the past two years in creating the employee benefits strategy. Annie walked the audience through the considered approach, which included speaking to a wide range of people, both internally and externally, before presenting the most appropriate strategy for approval by the business.

"It was important to consider the views of all of our stakeholders when defining our employee benefits programme. This included listening to the needs of our employees, talking to recruitment partners to consider the perspective of future employees, and discussing what was available with our employee benefits partners. We conducted a research project; asking all UK employees what they valued and what they wanted from our benefits strategy."

Assurant was invited to speak at Reward Live after being nominated for an award at the Very Important Benefits (VIB) Awards which is hosted by Reward. Reward is dedicated to championing the reward strategies of organisations and their providers in the UK.

The UK Assurant employee benefits programme has also been nominated for an award at, the Employee Benefits Awards which take place on the 9 June. The Employee Benefits Awards celebrate the best people, initiatives and benefits strategies from the last year
