Over last seven years, Assurant have hosted “Insight” events in the UK to share research, knowledge and opinion on the key markets in which we operate.

This year as well as holding a session in London we took our Insight events to Milan, Madrid, and Paris to present our findings into the “Connected Future”. The research included interviews with thousands of consumers across the five countries in Europe where we offer products and services. This enabled us to create a database of more than 1.7 million insights into consumer attitudes about the connected world.

According to the study, 70 percent of respondents across Europe believe that the benefits of connected technology outweigh the negatives. However, the study also indicated that a high percentage of consumers are very concerned by the associated risks this can bring such as identity theft and cyber-attacks.

At each event, the research was presented by an expert guest speaker who was able to share their own insights whilst facilitating discussion with attendees.

For the London event we also presented a tailored version of the Harris SmartLife Report which studies the UK public’s awareness, hunger and concerns about a smarter Tech Life and the Internet of Things. The report looked at a whole range of existing and upcoming devices, services and technologies that will affect our everyday lives, whether it’s being entertained, life in the home or out and about and in the car.
