Roll-out of new technology platform completed across RAC Dealer Network

The roll-out of a new, multi-million pound technology platform has been completed across the 1,300 used car retailers that make up the RAC Dealer Network.

Global Warranty Platform – or GloW – has been created by Assurant, the RAC’s partner in the warranty and aftersales sector, to make all aspects of automotive warranty sales, claims and handling faster, easier and more effective for dealers and their customers.

Kellie Grocott, RAC director of sales at Assurant, explained: “We’ve been rolling GloW out across our network with supporting training and resources in a manner that ensures its effectiveness is maximised for each individual dealer. That process has now been completed.

“It has been extremely well-received across our user base. Our dealers recognise that being able to handle all aspects of administration with high levels of efficiency is a key element of the entire warranty process and hands them a potential competitive advantage when it comes to sales penetration.”

The technology behind GloW is based on the well-known and highly respected Salesforce cloud-based platform.

Grocott said: “GloW provides the RAC Dealer Network with technology that places our members at the cutting edge of the automotive warranty sector.

“This is a highly scalable, secure and effective platform that will take us through the next decade and longer, helping us to keep pace with an evolving marketplace while ensuring our products and services continue to meet the needs of a rapidly changing used car sector.

“For example, during the roll-out process, GloW was enhanced to include the scratch, dent, tyre and wheel insurance policies that we introduced at the end of last year and the ease of administration it provides has played a key role in making those products a success.”
